APPROACH
Integrated Energy Psychology
Hi! I’m Krista Hoffman, exvangelical life coach. In my approach to coaching, principles from Integrated Energy Psychology and the Transformational Coaching Method are the main parts of my practice. I will guide you through various IEP and TCM modalities to help you process "small-t trauma," and rewrite the patterns these experiences have programed into your subconscious. That could look like wanting to wear a particular dress, but feeling uncomfortable, shameful, or guilty because the neckline is lower than what you were allowed to wear growing up. Even though you consciously agree that you are good even while wearing a plunging neckline, those original patterns and beliefs are locked into your subconscious and so you still feel the effects. Maybe there was a family member or church member who made a scene once or repeatedly about your clothing. The modalities I just mentioned will help clear the patterning of uncomfortable feelings, or negative self-talk so that you can wear what you love and feel good about it and yourself. With these various methods, you'll also learn to safely feel your feelings (instead of resisting them) and understand what they are telling you about your thoughts and beliefs so that what you are experiencing doesn’t get stuck. Then you can respond appropriately and consciously in the present. We begin by talking about the challenges you are facing after having begun deconstructing your faith, and what experiences you’ve had in the past that you are aware of are interfering with moving forward in the way you’d like. We get clear on what it is you would like to experience, and then we begin various processes to help clear and restructure what was in the way. Finally, we bring these changes into real life by figuring out and implementing the steps you need to take each week to create your authentic, joyful life, free of religious baggage. I offer a 90-Day program of support through your deconstruction called Forward in Freedom, as well as coaching packages of four individual 90-minute coaching sessions, or single as needed sessions. Remember, the only permission you need is your own.
Love & Light!

What is Integrative Energy Psychology?
Integrative Psychology is a branch of psychology that seeks to understand and treat the whole human being – body, mind, and spirit. It values narrative and myth; our reality comes from the stories we tell ourselves. Sometimes called Cultural Psychology, it recognizes that we understand that reality is culturally constructed.
Energy Psychology is a modality used in the mental health, integrative and holistic health, or life coaching industry. It is considered a subset of Integrative Psychology. Energy Psychology improves mental health by helping to process trauma, making triggers obsolete so they are no longer triggers, and returning the autonomic nervous system to a state of balance, which may also result in residual positive effects on physical health. The APA (American Psychological Association) has signed off on EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and TFT (Thought Field Therapy), two very popular Energy Psychology modalities, as evidence-based. We expect to see more Energy Psychology modalities receive this distinction in future years.
Integrative Energy Psychology is holistic philosophy and practice built upon a foundation of bioenergetics. It seeks to help people live their best lives and be their best selves. It aims to help people be the happiest, healthiest, and most productive individuals they can be.

How does EFT work?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) recalls an old memory by rating the intensity of the distress caused by the memory which, according to clinical psychologist and co-director of Innersource David Feinstein, unlocks the synapses that allow us to begin the process of unwiring and erasing that neural pathway. It then introduces a new felt experience which is contrary to the old one or “disconfirming.” Finally, this disconfirming experience is repeated many times.
The word that is used by neurologists to describe when a neural pathway is gone is depotentiated. "When the neural pathway has been depotentiated, symptoms do not return even if the situation is presented outside of the treatment setting.”
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” – Anais Nin
